St. Maximilian Kolbe
Our Lady of Guadalupe

Here are some of the real lifeguards watching over the pro-life movement. Our Lady of Guadalupe who Men & Women United for Life is dedicated to is the chief Patroness of the movement and the most well known. The others that follow each in their own way demonstrated in their lives a zeal for displaying Christ's love for all human life.

"Hear and let it penetrate your hearts, my dear little ones. Let nothing discourage you, nothing depress you; let nothing alter your heart or your countenance. Do not fear vexation, anxiety or pain. Am I not here, your Mother? Are you not in the folds of my mantle, in the crossing of my arms? Is there anything else that you need?"

In July 1941 there was an escape from the camp. Camp protocol, designed to make the prisoners guard each other, required that ten men be slaughtered in retribution for each escaped prisoner. Francis Gajowniczek, a married man with young children was chosen to die for the escape. Maximilian volunteered to take his place, and died as he had always wished – in service.

Mother Teresa spent her life in service to the Church. Which is a way of saying she spent her life in service to the poor and unwanted because that is who the Church serves. Mother Teresa had a burning love for Christ which extended to those Christ holds dearest, the poor, hungry, unwanted, and the unborn.

When falsely accused by a pregnant woman of being the father of her child, he retreated to silence; she later recanted and cleared him, and thus began his association as patron of all aspects of pregnancy. Reputed to bi-locate and read consciences. His last will consisted of the following small note on the door of his cell: “Here the will of God is done, as God wills, and as long as God wills.”
